Welcome to Heart2Hearts
Heart Support Group Affiliated to the British Heart Foundation
Hi, my name is Sue Reynolds and if you are reading this then it is probable that you have just been told you need heart surgery,
or are recovering from it. It could even be that someone you know is going through diagnosis and surgery.
I was diagnosed with heart disease in my early forties and underwent a heart bypass in May 2000; right up until the actual operation
I was in denial. Even now I still have a sneaking suspicion that I never had it, someone, somewhere made a serious mistake!
What I did experience, first hand was an utter sense of loneliness at that time.
I remember frantically looking on the Internet for a support group; I was desperate for someone to talk to, who was going through the same myriad of feelings.
There was nothing there, plenty of facts about heart disease but no one to reach out to; I had a million questions and no one with the
time to answer them.
The aim of this heart support group is to put heart patients and their families in touch with others going through the same experiences,
the name heart2hearts is just that. Heart to heart chats via e-mail and notice board, something I never found but wished that I had.
My story with excerpts from the book can be found on the site, and I hope that you will allow me to post your stories on it too.
I hope that it helps and I look forward to chatting to you.
Thank you
Sue Reynolds
