|
|
Hello there: I am a new user to this message board, so forgive me if this has been done a million times! However, my partner had a heart attack and then heart failure, following loss of blood in an operation (no one's fault, surgery is not without risks!).
At the time I knew NOTHING about heart attacks, I just thought you had one, got better, end of story.
Yes, I did have a steep learning curve to climb.... However, at the time I got very frustrated at lack of information about what life is really like, in particular for the partners/spouses. We are expected to support, cope with the loved one's depression/isolation, fear, anxieties etc etc and for months afterwards I felt very isolated and alone.
I am currently trying to put together a small e-book, which can help partners/spouses to feel that a lot of people have been through what they are going through and we have come out the other side, so to speak, whilst acknowledging that it can be a scary ride at times. If anyone would like to contribute their experience (full acknowledgement will be given, or not, depending on preferences) then could you please post here and I can then send you my email address. (Moderator, I hope this is allowed - but it is for (hopefully) a good cause....
With thanks, Libbie |

|

My husband at age 48 had a Heart attack.
He was always Healthy, very active. Now he is weak, and I am scared.
How long for him to recover?
I work 5 minutes away from home, I had to go back to work, now its only my income to support our family. I get home and have all the house chores to do and cook. I am only 42 yrs old , I feel I don't have a life anymore. Any advise... |

|

On the back of the piece in today's papers showing people who've had heart attacks shouldn't worry about having sex, I'm urgently looking for a heart attack sufferer who IS too scared to have sex, for fear of it sparking another attack. They would get £200 and would be able to see all copy before we go to print. We would obviously also give your site a plug if you’ve helped someone deal with this issue.
Please get back to me asap if you or someone you know might be able to help – this is for tomorrow’s Sun, so need to sort this by 5pm.
Thanks,
Matt
